新加坡南洋理工大学化学系乔媛课题组招聘启事

新加坡南洋理工大学化学系乔媛助理教授实验室现招聘博士后三名。

乔媛课题组（https://www.yqiaolab.com）于2019年底成立，课题组隶属于南洋理工大学物理数学学院的化学及生物化学部门。自成立以来，乔媛助理教授获得了Singapore National Research Foundation Fellow （NRFF）的充足启动资金。实验室采用化学工具和方法研究人类肠道菌群所产生的肽聚糖（peptidoglycan）的特性，了解肠道菌群对宿主健康疾病调控的具体机制。实验室融合了多层交叉学科研究，包括有机合成，微生物学，分析化学，以及化学生物学等。欢迎对化学微生物学和其它学科交叉具有浓厚兴趣的博士后加入乔媛团队。现招聘三名博士后。具体要求如下：

Postdoctoral Fellow in Organic Chemistry

Responsibilities: The postdoc will work in the multidisciplinary team to lead the design and synthesis chemical probes based on peptidoglycan scaffolds for biological characterizations. 

Requirements: 

1. Recent PhD graduate with expertise in organic chemistry, natural product synthesis, or related field. 

2. Demonstrate strong interests in working with a multi-disciplinary team to contribute the chemistry/synthesis knowledge to solve microbiota-related questions.

3. Able to perform multi-step chemical synthesis of carbohydrate and peptide-based natural products and chemical probes, with good techniques to handle air- and moisture-sensitive reactions.

4. Expertise with NMR, LCMS, HPLC for compound characterizations and purifications. 

5. Highly self-motivated and self-driven to deliver research output and meet goals. 

Postdoctoral Fellow in Metabolomics Research

Responsibilities: The postdoc will work with the state-of-art LC-HRMS to build an in-house metabolomic library using acquired data and to develop logarithms for data searching. 

Requirements: 

1. Recent PhD graduate with expertise in metabolomics, analytical chemistry and related field. 

2. Demonstrate proficiency in targeted/untargeted metabolomics mass spectrometry studies. Familiar with analysis software such as m/z vault, compound discover, trace-finder etc. Prior knowledge and experiences with data mining are highly preferred.  

3. Highly motivated, committed, and capable to work independently as well as in a group. 

4. Highly self-motivated and self-driven to deliver research output and meet goals. 

5. Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals

Postdoctoral Fellow in Microbiology Research

Responsibilities: The postdoc will work on culturing and analyzing the peptidoglycan contents from anaerobic and aerobic bacteria from the gut microbiota. 

Requirements: 

1. Recent PhD graduate with expertise in gut microbiome, microbiology and related field. 

2. Must demonstrate expertise and interests of working with human microbiota, including isolating and culturing anaerobic bacteria from human stool samples.

3. Familiar with handling anaerobic cultures, growth conditions, and sample preparations, 16S rRNA sequencing etc. 

4. Highly motivated, committed, and capable to work independently as well as in a group. 

5. Highly self-motivated and self-driven to deliver research output and meet goals. 

6. Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

Compensation and benefits package will be internationally competitive (including annual base salary, performance-based bonus, medical insurance and vacation leave), and will be commensurate with experiences and qualifications.

简介：乔媛，南洋助理教授（NRF）。乔媛主要研究方向包括生物化学，蛋白质化学，微生物学，分析化学等。特别对细菌细胞壁肽聚糖合成和代谢有深入研究，其中她曾开发了一系列有关细菌肽聚糖的化学生物工具，为新型抗生素研发提供新的思路；参与合作研究发现了人体肠道菌群产生大量肽聚糖对宿主健康调控起到重要作用，开拓新的研究领域。代表论文发表在J. Am. Chem. Soc, Nat. Chem. Biol., Nat. Microbiol. Nat. Comm.。
