Abstract

This paper discusses the state of shopping malls in the United States with the goal to identify factors that contribute to the health of malls and why some fail and others survive. A model is developed that is used to rank shopping malls and that can be used to gauge the health of other malls. Suggestions are provided for addressing what has been dubbed the "retail apocalypse."
