We currently live in a highly divisive and anxiety–provoking society. The combination of a deadly pandemic ruthlessly killing over a half a million of our citizens, disproportionately older and/or persons of color, has left our communities, families, schools, and businesses reeling. Although this period in our history has been politically divisive, education and business continue more than ever to help play a critical role in bringing us back. Education and training lead to employment. Employment leads to income, health benefits, life satisfaction, and the ability to pay for property taxes that usually drive public school funding in different neighborhoods. Work is an essential means for families to have sufficient income to pay for rent, food, utilities, and child care.
