Correction to: (Re)Considering Pedagogy – Entangled Ontology in a Complex Age: Abstraction Pedagogy and the Critical Pedagogical Importance of Art Education for Other Discipline Areas

In Barritt et al. (2021), the authors Stephen Thompson and Martyn Woodward were inadvertently omitted at the time of publication.

The biographies of Dr. Thompson and Dr. Woodward are as follows:

Dr. Stephen Thompson (Director of Studies) Academic Lead of Graduate Studies

(Cardiff Metropolitan University)

Stephen started his career working for a number of design consultancies in Britain and Germany before establishing his own design practice and eventually moving into a career as a University Art & Design academic where he has built a reputation as both a transdisciplinary theorist and an expert in transdisciplinary education.

Stephen is a co-convenor of the Metatechnicity Research at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and a member of the Transtechnicity Research Network at the University of Plymouth.

Stephen leads the Design Futures Masters pathway and is the Director of the Master of Research (Art & Design) programme. He also supervises nine PhD researchers and teaches undergraduates cognition, conceptual and speculative design and ideas for the progression of humanity.

Dr. Martyn Woodward (First supervisor) Associate Dean Student Experience (Cardiff Metropolitan University)

Martyn is a designer, media archaeologist, philosopher and theorist working primarily across the visual arts and design through theory, practice and teaching. His key interests lie in understanding how human experience shapes the material world, and in turn how the material world shapes human experience which re-configures received historical accounts of art and design through often-neglected archaeological, geological, genealogical and phenomenological contexts. His research brings together art and design theory history and philosophy together with the philosophy of mind, cognitive archaeology, and anthropology and geology in order to foster new ways of thinking across the territories of art and design history, theory, practice and pedagogy.
