Abstract
In this paper, deep structural features of the structures comprised in the southern Tatar Trough are determined based on structural-density and petromagnetic modeling. The riftogenic nature of this morphostructure is confirmed. The distribution of anomalous methane concentrations detected in water and the upper part of the sedimentary cover above these objects is investigated. It is shown that in an area adjacent to the riftogenic structures the sialic crust has experienced characteristic changes. Possible pathways providing a supply of thermogenic methane to the upper part of the sedimentary cover and the water column are revealed.
