Abstract

For more than a hundred years, people have been trying to solve the mystery of the Tunguska meteorite (TM) and understand what kind of phenomenon it was. The importance of this riddle is not so much in explaining a specific phenomenon as in realizing a class of large-scale events that mankind may face. During this time, a large number of hypotheses have been proposed, but none can satisfactorily explain the information collected about TM.
