Application of Software Packages for Analyzing the Performance of the Nonmetallic Part of a Pneumatic Spring

Abstract

A finite-element model (FEM) was prepared for the specimen of the nonmetallic part of the pneumatic spring of road vehicles. A 3D model was prepared for virtual computation. A grid was created for the nonmetallic part model specimen. The material for FEM calculation was selected to perform virtual computation. The computation results were analyzed for correspondence to real specimen testing results. The capabilities of LS-Dyna software in engineering analysis were demonstrated. The effect of computer-aided design systems on contemporary engineering solutions was estimated.
