The inaugural 750-kV transformer filled with natural ester oil has successfully completed testing in China. CHINT, the Chinese energy company, engineered a transformer filled with natural ester fluid (FR3) for the 750-kV voltage level. The transformer passed all factory acceptance tests in a single round, under the supervision of the Power Industry Electrical Equipment Inspection and Testing Centre of the State Grid Corporation of China. This validates the feasibility of deploying natural ester transformers at the 750-kV voltage level.
