Attention has been drawn to the fused quinoline backbone due to the noteworthy biological and pharmaceutical activities. Thus, focus on innovative synthesis pathways of fused-cyclic quinoline has crucial stand in the organic synthesis. In this review, we categorized fused quinoline backbone synthesis methodologies based on ring-fused volume size. Also, comparison of synthesis pathways has been referred in this review.
