In-display optical and image sensors add functions and values to display panels to form smarter and more interactive displays. A randomly-accessible active pixel sensor (APS) based on a double-gate amorphous silicon TFT is proposed and studied in this work. The proposed APS has low off current ( $< 10^{-{12}}\text{A}$ ), wide dynamic range of >100dB, and high gain of >10 from 300nm to 1100nm wavelengths. In addition, the fabrication of the proposed sensor is fully compatible with the mainstream TFT technology, making it advantageous in mass production.
