Maintenance modeling for multi-station remanufacturing systems with interaction between production schedule and station reliability

This paper proposes an Opportunistic Maintenance (OM) model for multi-station serial-parallel remanufacturing systems with interaction between production schedule and station reliability. A dynamic-priority-based production scheduling method is firstly introduced by involving the impacts from both the different types of recovered products and the deterioration of stations. This method is an important supplement for the remanufacturing system to describe the distinctive interdependence among the deterioration of the system, the production schedule and the maintenance activity. Then, a two-production-cycle-based OM policy is developed on stochastic programming, with the uncertainty incurred from the recycling market and the distinctive interdependence involved. Finally, numerical comparisons based on the remanufacturing scenario of the engine crankshaft are illustrated to show the availability of the proposed OM model.
