Novel benzophenones cavephenones A and B from cave-derived Aspergillus fumigatus GZWMJZ-152

Two novel racemic benzophenones A and B ( and ) were isolated from the cave-derived fungus GZWMJZ-152. Compound contains a rare highly oxidized cyclohexanone-furan part, and was probably biosynthesized from desmethylsulochrin and uncommon 3-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzoquinone. Compound contains a quinone-pyran-benzene tricyclic framework, which was speculated to be formed by two parts of 3-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzoquinone. In addition, compounds and exhibited potent antioxidant capacity with ORAC values of 0.88 and 2.82 μM TE/M, respectively.
