Multiscale evaluation of the effect of corrosive media on bitumen waterproof layer adhesion

On the adhesion characteristics of pavement surfaces, the impacts of new interface bonding material (GY), modified emulsified asphalt (RH), and secondary epoxy bonding oil (HRB) were investigated. On the adhesion characteristics of pavement surfaces, the impacts of coating thickness, water damage, salt corrosion, and aging were examined. The findings demonstrate that the initial and final stages of water damage have a significant impact on the binder's interface bonding properties, the initial and middle stages of saline-alkali medium corrosion failure are essentially complete, and the initial and middle stages of the influence of various corrosive media on the binder's interlayer bonding properties vary depending on the time period. The three adhesive materials should be applied at the following rates: GY 0.9 kg/m, HRB 0.7 kg/m, and RH 1.2 kg/m. Excellent corrosion, moisture, and oxidation resistance are all characteristics of GY. The epoxy group is primarily in charge of polymerization and curing activity, according to FTIR, and SEM microscopy demonstrates how dosage and curing temperature affect bond strength.
