A facial heat treatment can transform a layer-by-layer C@TiO2 coating of Si into an interlaced C/TiO2 coating interweaving with both highly elastic amorphous carbon and stiff TiO2. The unique interlaced coating renders the composite anode Si@C@TiO2 with much enhanced structural stability and promoted electrochemical performance.
