Visible-light-induced decarboxylative annulation of silanecarboxylic acids with 2‑isocyanobiaryls to 6‑silyl-substituted phenanthridines

A visible-light-induced decarboxylative annulation of 2‑isocyanobiaryls to 6‑silyl-substituted phenanthridines has been developed in this study. A series of 6‑silyl-substituted phenanthridines were obtained with a broad substrate scope under mild conditions. Compared with the reported methods, the strategy developed in this work does not require the use of peroxides and the reaction system is green and safe.
