Abstract—

Eleven ostracode species from Joyan Member of Jaisalmer Formation, Jaisalmer District, Rajasthan, India are described and/or recorded. Four species—Cytherella indica, Micropneumatocythere joyanensis, Progonocythere khoslai, and Trichordis minuta—are described as new; and 4 species—Cytherella obscura Lyubimova et Mohan, Batella befotakaensis (Grekoff), Mandelstamia banniensis (Neale et Singh), Paracypris mohani Khosla, Felix et Kumari—are assigned to already known taxa. Three species—Amicytheridea? sp. A, Batella sp., and Darwinula sp.—are left in open nomenclature. Based on distribution of the fauna, one ostracode biozone, Micropneumatocythere joyanensis Range Zone, has been proposed for the beds of Joyan Member and a Bajocian age is assigned for the zone.
