Use of Analytical Calculation Methods for Selecting Welding Regimes for Pipe Longitudinal Seams and Pipeline Circular Joints of Steels of Strength Classes K65 and K80

  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

The influence of chemical composition of steels of strength classes K65 and K80 on austenite decomposition kinetics, impact strength, and hardness of the overheating zone for cooling rates typical for multiarc submerged arc welding and manual arc welding is investigated. The range of cooling rates within which the mechanical properties meet standard requirements for the welding methods considered is determined. Welding production parameters are determined using an analytical calculation method providing a selected range of cooling rates.
