Abstract
This paper considers the application of scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDX) analysis for the determination of mineralogical and geochemical compositions of different artifacts such as metal items, ceramics, white paste for pottery inlay, metallurgical slag from sites of the Late Bronze–Early Iron Age (Saharna Mare, Glinjeni II-La Șanț, Hadjillar, Tarasova Balka) in the Northern Pontic region. Based on the chemical composition and associations of minerals, possible raw material sources, the temperatures and firing conditions, as well as technological features of white-paste production, are considered.
