Near-visible light active biomass derived benzoin photoinitiators for energy curing applications

Abstract

Benzoin derived photoinitiators were successfully synthesized from biomass and are effective in promoting free radical polymerization under near-visible light irradiation. Based on photophysical data, these new light active benzoin photoinitiators have superior optical properties compared to conventional benzoins.
