Coastal Accumulations of Juvenile Fishes in the Mouth Areas of Tributaries of Rybinsk Reservoir

Abstract

Long-term data (1996–1999 and 2008–2014) are presented on the species composition, density of aggregations, and distribution of juvenile fish in various types of shallow coastal areas of the Rybinsk Reservoir and the mouths of its tributaries. The earliest information (1950s–1980s) on the formation of the fish population in the reservoir as a result of the adaptation of individual species to changed living conditions is considered. The characteristic features of the distribution of juvenile fish in the tributaries of the reservoir are shown: in the coastal zone of the mouth area and areas of bordering systems. Patterns of the distribution of juvenile fish in years of different water contents were revealed.
