Abstract

The physical and geographical characteristics of the natural conditions and the morphometric and hydrological characteristics of the Rybinsk Reservoir and the mouth areas of its tributaries are presented. The influence of climatic conditions on the considered section of the Upper Volga basin is considered. The conditions for the formation of the relief, its main types, the places where rocks of the Mesozoic era (Jurassic period) emerged are described, and the important influence of the cover glaciation of the Quaternary period is indicated.
