Modeling Thermal Welding Cycles of Medium-Carbon High-Strength Steels for Predicting the Mechanical Properties of Real Welded Joints

  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

The kinetics of austenite decay and the modeling of thermal welding cycles on the installation of high-frequency currents of various sections of the thermal influence zone of medium-carbon medium-alloy steels were studied. The change in hardness and toughness at metal heating temperatures of 170°C to 1300°C is presented. The mechanical properties of the simulated thermal influence zone and the real welded joint are compared.
