Abstract

The results of platinum extraction from a low-concentration nitric acid platinum-containing solution by sulfide and electrolytic precipitation are presented. The problem of the study is the question about a possibility of platinum(IV) extraction from refining nitric acid mother liquors of a complicated ionic and quantitative composition. The best result for platinum extraction (99.9%) has been achieved for zinc-assisted electrolytic precipitation, and the subsequent nitric acid treatment of the cake provides a platinum–palladium concentrate with the platinum content at least 96.1%.
