I'm a Chemist by training, having done a first degree and a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Oxford. Excited by the industrial applications of Chemistry I worked for a couple of years in the main research labs at ICI before moving to an academic job at the University of Bath in 1994. I joined Chemistry at Bristol in 2000
