个人简介

I am at heart a chemical engineer who likes studying processes that take place in the Earth's subsurface. My research combines laboratory experiments and models to provide answers to fundamental questions on the physics of fluid flow and phase-equilibria in rocks and other porous media. Examples include the study of supercritical gas adsorption in pore spaces or the characterization of single- and multi-phase flows in rocks. I apply multidimensional imaging techniques, such as x-ray CT or PET, to relate physical observations to the complex structure of porous materials. Answers to these research questions are applicable to a variety of applications and include the sequestration of CO2 into deep geological formations with or without hydrocarbon recovery, shale gas extraction, enhanced oil recovery, geothermal energy and groundwater hydrology. Information on my publication records can be found through my ResearcherID and GoogleScholar profiles.
