个人简介

Rebecca Price-Davies is a Senior Lecturer and research pharmacist in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She obtained her BPharm at the University of Bath, before returning to Wales to gain professional registration as a pharmacist and subsequently her PhD at Cardiff University. Her research interests include intravenous drug stability and compatibility with medical devices, and parenteral nutrition stability. She is a member of the parenteral technology group which assesses and advises on drug and nutrition stability, to assure patient safety in this critical area. This work improves medical care for patients receiving intravenous therapy, allowing them to leave hospital earlier. This is of great benefit to both the patients, many of whom require lifelong treatment, and the hospital. Rebecca's background as a frontline healthcare professional, coupled with her research experience and industry links, have given her a privileged perspective that has been invaluable in her capacity as the expert pharmacist on an NHS Research Ethics Committee and committee member of the British Pharmaceutical Nutrition Group. Rebecca greatly enjoys her involvement with learning and teaching, incorporating her experience as a practicing pharmacist to enrich her teaching in both clinical and scientific subjects. Her enthusiasm has been recognised by her students, whose nominations led to her being awarded "Teacher of the Year" within the School in 2012, and shortlisted for "Most Innovative Member of Staff" at the University-wide Enriching Student Life Awards the following year. When time permits, Rebecca takes science out of the lab and into the community, as a STEM ambassador.
