The name "MaPSAiD" comes from our group's research focus, "Membrane Protein Structure & Application in Disease". The short acronym-like word reads "map-said", and is translated to two Chinese characters as "图” for map, and “说” for said. Coincidentally, structural means, such as X-ray crystallography or cryo-EM single particle reconstruction, produce maps for building protein models. That is, the structural details of a protein is "said" by a "map". Therefore, the name "MaPSAiD" fits perfectly for us.

Our group was first established at Sichuan University in 2016. In six years, we have explored, adapted and grown. Today, we become the "MaPSAiD" Group. We have started on this fascinating journey of scientific discovery, and we will advance and prosper.
