Simulation of Sliding Friction with Lubrication in the Hydrodynamic Friction Regime

Abstract

Comparative studies of the numerical method of determining the temperature of an alloyed lubricating layer and the friction moment with experimental data are presented. On the basis of the sweep method, we solved a system of equations including the modified Reynolds differential equation, the equilibrium equation, the energy equation, the friction moment equation, and the viscosity dependence on the pressure and the temperature. From comparison of the numerical data with the experiments, we show that the difference was within 13%.
